Have you noticed how quickly the days go by.  Minutes fade into years passing by with no time for making memories.  Do you remember the promises you made yourself and the things you promised yourself you would never do, the people you want to visit but never seem to make the time for?  Have you noticed how the winter has suddenly come upon us and the trees seem to be fading, the leaves heaping up in corners while the grass turns brown.

Have you...
                   NO TIME TO PRAY?

I find that time passes me by and I find - no time to pray!  Just one hour!  No not even  one hour can I find.  I normally pray during the day at odd moments.  I love it ...                  But it is not enough...

I often listened to this message. Often I have heard Priests and Pastors and others who love Jesus talk about Him standing at the door knocking. He knocks, bearing gifts of joy and love. At some point during their sermon/homily the question would arise, "Are you willing to open the door to your heart and let Jesus in."

"But Yes," many including myself, would answer," Lord please come into my heart. Make me Yours, only Yours.  Come rest in me."

Nothing happened.  Could the door to my heart be stuck? Was it stuck because I had no idea how to open it?  My heart has a handle on the inside and I have the only key to open the door. How can I love God and still not be able to open the door to my heart to let Him in?  How do I reach God from behind a solid wall of fear and doubt?  Am I not worthy?  Why would He not show me how to unlock this resistant, obstinate door of my heart?

At meeting with the Leaders of my Life in the Spirit group I learned how.  It was so simple.  Just spend time with God - Uninterrupted, Quality time with God, just listening to His voice, relaxing in His presence and He will open up to you.   The memories flooded my mind and soul of the times when I had spent time with God and heard His voice and peace flowed over me.

Spontaneous prayer is about the best form of prayer, however, better still is spending time with Jesus, building a relationship that will fill your soul with His bountiful peace and love.  So the key to the door of your heart is Quiet Prayer, the handle to the door of the heart is spending uninterrupted pockets of time with God.

I love spending time with my family and friends.  We chat for hours on end.  How simple it is to spend a half or quarter hour of uninterrupted, quality time building your friendship/familyship with God. I have recently, consciously made time to spend with God?

  Now...

Will you?...

Thank you Lord

show you
This is book on the life of St Gertrude
"The Life and revelations of St Gertrude the Great", interested? Go to Amazon to find a copy for yourself.
The book is an amazing read on how one young woman was touched by The Lord and lived continually in His Divine Presence.  She became His resting place when He could find rest no place else on earth.  In fact, those of you who have read True Life in God, will find this book as interesting. It takes awhile to read so having your own copy is a must.

Not too long ago I received news about something that I was praying for and my heart was filled with gratitude, praise and an overflowing love for the Lord.  That night during a praise and worship service, I asked Him - "Lord how can I show You my gratitude and please you?" The answer was a spark of enlightenment that began in my heart.  I was amazed at how easy the answer was.  In thanksgiving and love, I can tell the Lord that I am grateful for His gifts.  St Therese of Lisieux used to say that to pick up a needle off the floor for love of Jesus pleases the Lord.  It pleases the Lord when we include Him in our lives, our decisions and make Him a part of whatever we are doing.  Instead of taking Him for granted and only remembering Him when I am in need.
Let us Pray:

Dearest Lord Jesus,  thank you for being with me today, for sharing with me my joys and my sorrows.  I love You Lord and I bless You.  I pray that You will bless each person who visits this site.  Touch their hearts, souls and lives; filling them with a deep sense of peace and love for You.  Thank You Lord that we can take this moment to rest in You.  Amen.

May the Lord Our God fill your life with Peace and Joy and that of the ones near and dear to you dear reader.  God bless you
